Study in Ireland
Ireland's higher education mixes universities, technological universities, institutes of technology and private colleges, and English is the main language of instruction.
Programmes
Undergraduate degrees typically last 3 to 4 years, and postgraduate options include master's and PhD. The university year is typically September to May.
Student Immigration
Students from some countries need a visa to study in Ireland. You must show enough money for fees and living costs, and all non-EEA students need private medical insurance. You can stay up to seven years as a student.
Work Rules
Up to 20 hours a week in term time. In June to September and between 15 December and 15 January, up to 40 hours a week.
After Study
The Third Level Graduate Programme is for non-EEA graduates with a level 8 or level 9 award from a recognised Irish awarding body. Level 8 graduates get 12 months; level 9 and above get 12 months, renewable once for a further 12 months if they take appropriate steps to find graduate-level employment. Apply within six months of completing the degree; the registration fee is EUR 300.
