Travel to Brazil From Saudi Arabia: A Practical Trip Guide

Brazil is a long way from Saudi Arabia, but it rewards good planning: the beaches of Rio, the city life of São Paulo, and the Iguaçu Falls on the border. This guide sets out what to know before you book, from the visa to health and insurance, with no invented fares.

We write this at Almorad and link the health and official facts to their sources. City and trip suggestions are general tips, not official rules.

We checked the official sources in October 2026. The Brazilian visa table was updated on 26 August 2026, and health guidance changes with the outbreak situation, so contact us to confirm the latest updates before you travel.

Is your file ready to submit?

Most refusals come from one small detail in the file. Send us your destination and travel dates and we will review your documents before you apply.

Start With the Visa Before You Book

According to the official Brazil visa table, Saudi citizens need a visit visa, while holders of some other passports are exempt for up to 90 days. In Riyadh, applications go through the embassy e-consular platform, and you should not go to the embassy until you are asked to.

So do not buy a non-refundable ticket before you know your nationality's status. The full details are in our guide to the Brazil visa for residents of Saudi Arabia.

Flights From Saudi Arabia

We quote no fares because they change with the season, the carrier and the booking date. In general, flights to Brazil are long and often involve a connection at an intermediate airport, so compare options on layover time, checked baggage and change policy.

  • If your route passes through a third country, check its entry or transit rules for your nationality.
  • Leave a comfortable layover so a late first flight does not make you miss the next.
  • Book once the visa timing is clear, or choose a changeable fare.

Best Cities for a First Trip

Rio de Janeiro

Good for travellers who want beaches, mountains and famous landmarks in one place. Summer in the southern hemisphere starts in December, so expect hot and humid weather, while the middle months of the year are cooler.

São Paulo

Brazil's largest city and its busiest for business, shopping and dining. It suits those who combine a business visit with tourism, and it is a convenient base for domestic flights.

Foz do Iguaçu

The city of the Iguaçu Falls, on the border with Argentina and Paraguay. You usually need a domestic flight from Rio or São Paulo, and it suits short family trips. If you plan to cross into another country, check its visa rules for your nationality.

Health and Vaccines

According to the US CDC guidance for Brazil, yellow fever vaccination is advised for travellers aged 9 months and older visiting a number of states, including Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo (cities included) and the Iguaçu Falls area. It should be given at least 10 days before travel.

The same guidance says Brazil does not require proof of vaccination on entry, and that there is no malaria risk in Rio, São Paulo or the Iguaçu Falls. It describes dengue as the most common mosquito-borne illness in Brazil, so use repellent and suitable clothing.

Whether you need the vaccine depends on your route and health, so see a doctor or travel clinic well before departure. The Brazilian foreign ministry page also lists the international immunization certificate among application documents when needed.

Insurance and General Precautions

We did not rely on an official source for a specific insurance requirement, so treat these as general tips:

  • Choose travel medical insurance that covers treatment, evacuation and trip cancellation.
  • Keep digital copies of your passport, visa and bookings.
  • Tell your bank you are travelling and carry more than one payment method.
  • Avoid displaying valuables in big cities.

From What We Prepare at Almorad

This is Almorad practice, not an official Brazilian requirement. For a tourist visa file we usually ask for a passport with enough validity, a valid ID or residence permit, recent photos, a recent bank statement, an employer letter or proof of study, and a trip plan or tentative booking.

We review the file with you before submission, and the embassy makes the final decision. For timing, read when to apply for a visa before you travel, and for income documents see our guide to bank statements and employment letters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the yellow fever vaccine mandatory to enter Brazil?

According to CDC guidance, Brazil does not require proof of vaccination on entry, but the vaccine is recommended for many areas including Rio, São Paulo and Iguaçu. Ask your doctor.

How long is the trip from Saudi Arabia to Brazil?

It varies by airline, route and layover, so we give no figure. Compare options when you book.

Which city is best for a first visit?

Rio for beaches and landmarks, São Paulo for business and shopping, and Foz do Iguaçu for the falls. You can combine them if your time allows.

Do I need a visa before booking flights?

It depends on your nationality. Saudi citizens do according to the official table, and it is wise to avoid a non-refundable ticket until you know the outcome.

Can Almorad help me prepare the visa file?

Yes. We prepare and review the file and book the appointment where needed, but we do not issue visas or guarantee approval. The decision rests with the embassy.

Let us prepare your file with you

We review your documents, arrange your appointment and put the full file together, which reduces the chance of a refusal caused by a missing or incorrect document.
