Programmes
- Bachelor's and master's programmes, some in English and some in German; each programme's regulations (FPSO) set its requirements. Programme lists are not reproduced here.
- Doctorate: doctoral students are exempt from tuition; the admission route was not verified.
Admission requirements
Bachelor's
Applicants with a non-German entrance qualification use the Application Info Portal. The process often includes uni-assist preliminary documentation (VPD), language certificates and visa steps. Some bachelor's programmes (e.g. Aerospace, Information Engineering) have additional procedures.
Master's and doctorate
Requirements are programme-specific, and English proficiency for master's cannot be proven by school grades such as the Abitur.
English language requirements
For English-taught programmes, proof of English is submitted with the online application, and the accepted tests and levels are set in each programme's regulations (FPSO). German-taught programmes require German proof (KMK list). The pages we read give no uniform numeric scores; check your programme's FPSO.
Fees and cost of living
Non-EU/EEA students newly enrolling in bachelor's or master's programmes usually pay tuition; EU/EEA, doctoral and exchange students are exempt. The page states typically EUR 2,000-3,000 per semester for bachelor's and EUR 4,000-6,000 per semester for master's; the exact amount is on each programme page. A separate semester contribution applies.
Application deadlines
Winter semester runs 1 Oct - 31 Mar and summer semester 1 Apr - 30 Sep. Exact application deadlines are in a downloadable calendar we could not read; check the application page.
Scholarships and financial aid
TUM lists a scholarship for international students of EUR 500-1,800 one-time per semester, plus waiver scholarships for merit or need. Each has deadlines and approval is not automatic.
